Principal Kim Ammons

Kimberly Ammons, Principal

Ammons began her career in public education by teaching fourth- and fifth-grade students at Lowery Elementary before becoming a mentor teacher at the school. Ammons moved to Prairieville Primary six years ago to work as an instructional coach. She became the assistant principal of PVP three years ago.

“I am so humbled and honored to be chosen for this position. I do not take my work lightly. I love what I do and can’t imagine doing anything else,” Ammons said. “Thank you for believing in me and allowing me to take over this amazing honor. I promise to do my best for the students and families of Prairieville Primary.”

Ammons earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of New Orleans and a master’s degree from Southeastern Louisiana University.

Jacie Dunbar, Assistant Principal

Mrs. Dunbar has an extensive background in education. She has served as a student teacher, elementary teacher, master teacher, and most recently, as an assistant principal at Gonzales Middle School. Her experience at various levels of education equips her with the skills and knowledge to excel in her new role.

“I am thrilled to bring everything I’ve learned over the past three years in middle school back to Prairieville Primary. It's wonderful to return to the primary world, where my journey began and where my heart truly lies. I feel blessed to lead alongside this outstanding staff as we continue to nurture and grow every Cardinal. It is an honor to serve the Prairieville Primary community as a whole,”

Dunbar graduated from Southeastern Louisiana University with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education. She furthered her education by earning a master’s degree in educational leadership from Southeastern Louisiana University in 2013.

Hailey Guidry Roberts, Assistant Principal

Mrs. Roberts began her career in Ascension Parish in 2015 at Lowery Elementary School. Over the years, she has progressed through various roles, including mentor teacher and master teacher. In 2020, she joined Prairieville Primary as a fourth grade teacher, and in 2023, she took on the role of teacher coach, further enhancing her leadership skills and dedication to student success.

“I am grateful for the trust and confidence you have placed in my ability to lead Prairieville Primary. Your belief in my vision and leadership is truly meaningful to me,” said Roberts. “I also want to extend my heartfelt thanks to our incredible principal, whose support, guidance, and mentorship have been instrumental in my growth as both an educator and a leader. Your dedication and passion for fostering growth for all students continue to inspire me. Together with our dedicated staff and wonderful community, I am committed to providing an excellent educational experience for all students at Prairieville Primary. As always, it’s a great day to be a Cardinal!”

Roberts holds a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Louisiana College and a master’s degree in educational leadership from Southeastern Louisiana University. She is also certified in special education, showcasing her dedication to meeting the diverse needs of all students.
